Manchester City University (MMU for short) is a comprehensive public university in the United Kingdom, founded in 1970. Manchester City University has undergone amalgamation of colleges, some of which were founded in the 19th century. The merger plan began on January 1, 1970, when the Manchester Technical College consisted of the Manchester School of Art and Design, the Manchester Business School, and the John Dalton Technical College. Changed from college to university in 1992. Covers more than 70 subjects. There are five campuses in Manchester and two campuses in Crewe and Alsager and Cheshire. The school currently has the following colleges: School of Art and Design, School of Health, Psychology and Social Care, Hollings College, School of Anthropology, Law and Social Sciences, School of Education, School of Business, MMU Cheshire, School of Science and Engineering.
